Sida is the lead funding partner of the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust and a major contributor to the development of the arts and culture sector in Zimbabwe. Since the establishment of the Culture Fund in 2007, Sida has contributed more than 90% of Culture Fund’s financial resources annually. These resources are managed by the Culture Fund and channelled to programs in Zimbabwe’s arts and culture sector enabling culture sector development.
Resolutions for project grants are done through an assessment process. The Technical Advisory Committee of Experts (TACE) undertakes initial assessment and the Culture Fund Board makes final resolutions.
The Culture Fund Board has enables another small window of opportunity for urgent projects and programmes falling outside of the Culture Fund’s main funding cycles. Through the Sub-Sector Network support projects are assessed on need and strength; and are not evaluated following the normal route. The amount disbursed through this fund is not more than US$2,000.00 per project. The turnaround time for projects submitted for consideration under this fund takes an estimate three weeks.
