Mobility Impacts Grants Communique

The Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust is a not-for-profit organisation that envisions an inclusive society characterized by improved well-being for all. It harnesses resources for the creative sector in order to make impacts on the broader Zimbabwean society by engaging the transformative power of Arts and Culture. The Fund facilitates the advancement of a sustainable and vibrant Culture in Zimbabwe that contributes to broad participation by Zimbabweans in their cultural life and development of their country. The Culture Impacts programme partners the Culture Fund with the Swedish Government through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Danish Government through the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and the European Union (EU) Delegation in Harare to foster social cohesion, peace and poverty reduction among Zimbabwean communities. The Culture Fund offers travel funds to Zimbabweans and eligible residents. It enables artists, arts professionals and cultural operators to travel within Zimbabwe and internationally for the purposes of cultural exchanges, skills enhancement, establishing network linkages and business opportunities. The modality of grants under USD2, 000.00 will be maintained

Mobility Events: 1 Literary Festival, 1 Professional Training Program, 1 Book Fair, 1 Art Fair

Mobility amounts requested outside Fund scope, activities and budget misalignment, among others resulted in some applications being unsuccessful in this instance.

2.  FRANSCISCA NHONGONEMA DELL ARTE SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL THEATRE 1 F Grant: $2,000.00

Activity: Professional training Programme at Dell Arte International School of Physical Theatre, California, USA | 2015 -2016

Outcomes: Mentoring and training of women in creative sector.

3. STARBRITE TALENT SEARCH PROGRAMME OUTREACH 5M/3F Grant: $1,907.00

Activity: Talent Auditions | August 2015

Outcomes: talent identification and marketing exposure.

4. KOOVHA GALLERY’S 1:54 CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 1M Grant: $1,800.00

Activity: International Art exhibition | 15-18 October 2015

Outcomes: Networking platform and marketing exposure
