Culture Fund introduces Mobility Impacts
The Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust (CFoZT) in partnership with the Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation (Hivos) phased out the Arts Travel Zim Mobility Fund at the end of June 2015. The Culture Fund Hivos Arts Travel Zim Mobility Fund was a small grants programme that was created in 2013 in response to the critical sector need for mobility funding in the movement, dissemination and distribution of art and cultural products. The Arts Travel Zim Mobility Fund allowed artists to travel within Zimbabwe and internationally to attend fairs, festivals, exhibitions and workshops. The Culture Fund would like to take this opportunity to thank Hivos for its expedient and inestimable contribution to the success and longevity of this small grants programme.
Since its inception the Arts Travel Zim Mobility Fund has been able to support numerous activities from 2013 up to date:
92 Applications submitted; 23 awarded grants; Â Female: 6;Male: 11; Â 6 combined groups
133 Applications submitted 35 awarded grants; Â Female: 9;Male 19; 7 combined groups
52 Applications submitted; 21 awarded grants; Female: 6; Male:Â 7 combined groups
The Culture Fund is committed to shoring up support for the critical movement of Artists and their products in the realization of vital collaborations, information exchange, creative processes and cultural expression. As such the Culture Fund will continue to receive applications from practitioners in the creative industries. This new phase fund will now be called The Culture Fund Arts Mobility Impacts.
